The Lectionary for Mass gives this option: When the Ascension of the Lord is celebrated on the Sunday following the Sixth Sunday of Easter [as it is in most of the United States of America], the second reading and Gospel from the Seventh Sunday of Easter may be read on the Sixth Sunday of Easter.
